Analyst predicts Samsung Galaxy S4 release

2012 December 25

Recently, a market analyst claimed that Samsung may release the Samsung Galaxy S4 come February. Doug Freedman of RBC Capital markets said that Samsung’s roadmap for 2013 may include releasing the successor of the Samsung Galaxy S3 earlier than expected due to Apple’s change of plans (iPad Mini could also be launched by February).

Yes, it was recently rumoured that Apple may release the iPhone 6 early next year and this could potentially be the reason why Samsung is also pushing for an early release of the Galaxy S4 (this is according to IBTimes).

In addition, the Korea Times claim to have been made privy to a significant Samsung Galaxy S4 specs leak. They say that it includes a 5” Super LCD 3 display with 1,920 x 1080p resolution paired with 445 ppi and is protected by the ever tough Corning Gorilla Glass 2.

Other rumours suggests that the Samsung Galaxy S4 will be using a 13MP camera sensor and is packed with Quad-Core processor (Cortex-A15) and is said to clock in at 2GHz. This is also paired with 2GB RAM.

Freedman also said in his note as predicted that the Samsung Galaxy S4 could be released in February or March. With a revealing set for the 2013 MWC (Mobile World Congress) which will take place in Barcelona, Spain.

Please note that Freedman is the fourth analyst and source to speculate this release date for the much-awaited Samsung Galaxy S4. His note also came right after Korea Times reiterated that the Mobile World Congress 2013 will be most likely the venue for the announcement.

“Samsung is ready to unveil the next Galaxy smartphone, the Galaxy S4, at early next year’s mobile world congress (MWC) in the Spanish City of Barcelona” this is from an official who spoke with the Korea Times on condition of anonymity.
