Samsung Galaxy S3 and HTC One X Jelly Bean updates

2012 December 10

Recently, Samsung’s flagship the Galaxy S3 advances to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean OS while the HTC One X (International Version) gains speed and new cool features with its very own Jelly Bean update. In the US, the latest Jelly Bean device is the AT&T Samsung Galaxy S3 variant. It is joined by Sprint and T-Mobile USA’s Samsung Galaxy S3 variants. The Samsung Galaxy S3 Verizon variant remains in the Ice Cream Sandwich era and there is no word yet from Verizon on the Android 4.1 release for its Galaxy S3.

There are some International unlocked Samsung Galaxy S3 variant owners who are currently enjoying the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean OS. They are also said to enjoy advanced features all thanks to the phone’s ToucWiz UI. This update is available in some parts of Europe but the Over-The-Air update is expected to land in more countries soon including US Galaxy S3 variants. As early as now, it is quite safe to say that AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint will be receiving the advanced TouchWiz UI features first. This will then be followed by two remaining Ice Cream Sandwich powered Galaxy S3 variants from Verizon and US Cellular.

Going back to Verizon, their flagship Motorola devices in the likes of Droid RAZR HD and Droid RAZR HD Maxx, are the latest Android Jelly Bean devices on the top 4G LTE carrier. Last week, the OTA Jelly Bean update for these devices was issued. The phones are said to support the Google Now platform (this is the enhanced Google voice search) both of the phones are said to run smoother all thanks to Project Butter.

On the other hand, the HTC One X unlocked variant finally received its Jelly Bean update. HTC’s former Android flagship device, the One X, is the second Jelly Bean device from HTC. The update arrived in different countries including all Asian variants (Hong Kong, Singapore, Philippines, etc.). The new OS brings a slew of new features to the HTC One X. It includes battery improvements, improved on-screen keyboard, bug fixes, and all new Android 4.1 features.
