Samsung Galaxy S4 official specs
The Samsung Galaxy S4 has been officially unveiled in an event held at the posh Radio City Music Hall in New York City last night.
There is no official pricing for the Samsung Galaxy S4 yet, but we are expecting it to land with a price tag of £480 or about $725 USD, this is of course the SIM-free variant of the device.
Let us now talk about the much-awaited specs of this new Samsung Galaxy S range device.
Yes, it is true, the Galaxy S4 is a tid-bit smaller than its successor the Samsung Galaxy S3 at 136.1 x 69.8mm. But, it packs a whopping 5” display screen.
The Galaxy S4 appears to be incredibly thin, considering the new internals it now boasts. The device measures at 7.9mm thick only. The phone also weighs a gram lighter than the Galaxy S3 at 130 grams.
Sadly, Samsung chose to wrap this new baby with the old polycarbonate chassis, although the phone’s metallic banding is a bit sturdier and will give you that premium feeling (even if it is still made out of plastic).
When it comes to the phone’s colour variants, Samsung is offering this new device in ‘White Frost’ and ‘Black Mists”. Samsung also said that “a variety of additional color options will be available later this year.”
The Samsung Galaxy S4 will come in with1.6GHz octa-core Exynos 5 processor, while in some territories you will be getting the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro variant.
There is also the phone’s 2GB worth of RAM and option storage in 16, 32, and 64GB variants.
As I’ve mentioned earlier, this device is packed with a 5” Super OLED display with a stunning Full HD 1,920 x 1,080p and 441ppi (pixel density). This is indeed more than the iPhone 5’s pixel density but sadly, less than the HTC One.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 will land with the Android Jelly Bean 4.2.1 out of the box with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI.
Last but not the least, this new Samsung device is packed with Eye-Tracking software. You can control the device by simply looking at it.
