The successor of the best-selling Samsung Galaxy S3 could actually launch in April. This news is according to SamMobile (Samsung news web site), which pegs the launch of the Galaxy S4 on the 15th of April.

Today we all know that Samsung’s Galaxy S line emerged as the iPhone’s biggest competitor, and it garnered as much hype and excitement as Apple’s iPhone. While early generations of the Galaxy S smartphone faced a rather slow start, the Galaxy S3 became a huge success and has held up remarkably even well as its competitions slowly faded.

Yes, the Galaxy S3 helped propel the Korean Tech giant into the number one spot amongst handset vendors of today. Now, the Samsung Galaxy S4 is said to feature wireless charging technology. But unlike other smartphones in the likes of Nokia Lumia 920 and HTC Droid DNA, the service is not built-in.

According to reports, users will have to get a kit with wireless charging station and replacement cover.

The next Samsung Galaxy S device is said to feature a larger 2,600 mAh battery, compared with the Galaxy S3’s 2,100 mAh battery.

With a possible April launch date, SamMobile said that the Korean Tech giant could hold its own event in March or a possible unveiling during the Mobile World Congress 2013 even in Spain which will happen last week of February. If you remember it, the Samsung Galaxy S3 was unveiled May of 2012 at a Samsung event.

Even if Samsung’s April 15 launch date is true, this doesn’t necessarily mean that the Galaxy S4 will make its way to the US that soon. As with the Galaxy S3, the device may launch at different times depending on when US mobile carriers want to release the said unit (and it could vary from days to weeks).
