Samsung Readying Yet Another Version Of The Galaxy S4, This Time With Upgraded Camera

2013 May 7

images (6)With the Samsung Galaxy S4 having been on the market for a couple of weeks now, the device is continuing to hit headlines and selling well as expected. While it is likely to be the biggest selling smartphone of the year, there has also been plenty of speculation that Samsung will release a number of other variants of the device throughout 2013.

For example, we recently reported that Samsung is in the process of developing a Galaxy S4 Mini, and a dust and water proof version called the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active. However, recent rumours have suggested that yet another separate version of the Galaxy S4 may be in the pipeline.

Apparently, Samsung is also gearing up to release a new version of the Galaxy S4 with an upgraded camera. While the Galaxy S4 comes with a 13 megapixel camera which is among the most advanced out there, the South Korean manufacturer is reportedly developing a new camera orientated handset called the Galaxy S4 Zoom. Sammobile reports that this handset will come with a 16 megapixel camera similar to that used on the company’s Galaxy Camera model.

The website also reports that the device will include a 4.3 inch qHD Super AMOLED display, Android Jellybean OS, 8 GB of storage with a microSD slot, and all the usual connectivity features, but the jury is apparently still out on whether the device will come with a dual-core or quad-core processor.

Sammobile reports that the Galaxy S4 Zoom will be released before the summer, and will be offered in black and white variants. Although Samsung has not officially announced the device, the website has proven time and time again that it knows what it is talking about when it comes to upcoming Samsung smartphones, so this is information worth paying attention to. We will of course report back if we hear of any updates regarding the Galaxy S4 Zoom.
